Meet the Chumash

Did you know that the Chumash were among the first residents of Simi Valley?

They lived in several locations throughout the Valley including several locations around Strathearn Park.

They were skilled at hunting, fishing and gathering local foods. They made beautiful baskets and left us cave paintings of their spiritual beliefs.
