Historical Society Questions

Can I schedule a private tour of the historic buildings?

Yes, with enough notice, special tours can be arranged for groups. We request a $5 donation per person for private tours and at least two weeks advance notice.

Are the buildings open to the public?

Yes. Docents regularly provide tours through the buildings on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays beginning at 1:30pm. No reservations are required. A $5 per person donation is requested to help support the Historical Society. The buildings are closed to the public Monday through Thursday.

Can I become a member of the Historical Society?

Yes and we would appreciate your support. Individual membership is $15 a year and $25 for an entire family. With membership you will receive an electronic copy of the “Mail Cart” which is our quarterly newsletter. You’ll also be invited to attend the Simi Valley Historical Society Annual Dinner. General Park Questions

What is the food, drink and smoking policy?

Feel free to bring food and non-alcoholic drink into the Park. Please place your trash in one of the many trash cans located around the Park. Alcoholic drinks are not allowed on Park grounds except by permit as part of a private party or event. Smoking and Vaping is strongly prohibited to safeguard our historic buildings.

Is there a charge to enter the Park?

No, just like the other parks managed by Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District, there is no charge to enjoy the park. There may be a charge to enter the park during special events. Check out the “Park Events” tab on the Home Page for information about upcoming events including dates and entrance fees.

Photography / Video

Can I take professional photographs or video inside the Park?

Professional photography and video is allowed by permit only. Filming inside the buildings is almost never allowed. Because the needs of professional photography projects vary, it’s best to reach out to us so we can discuss your specific needs. Drone photography is also only allowed by permit.

Can I take personal photos inside the Park?

Yes. Our historic buildings and equipment make beautiful backdrops for family photos, baptism photos, save the date photos, and many more. Feel free to use the building porches, lawns and benches for your photos. Please don’t climb or sit on the porch railings, vehicles or ranch equipment. Also be sensitive to the delicate nature of our important historical buildings. Drone photography is only allowed by permit.

Park Rentals

Is the Park available to rent?

Yes the Park is available to rent as a venue for anniversaries, weddings, school reunions, corporate events, family reunions, celebrations of life, birthday parties, baby showers, and any other special occasions. See the “Facility Rentals” tab on the Home Page for more information.
