DOCENT OF THE MONTH
April 2007

Erin Hickey

I was born on April 24 1980 in Simi Valley on the South Central side on Fletcher Street to a mother from New England and father from Rosemead.  My heritage is mostly Irish, hence the name Erin Hickey.

I attending Good Shepherd Lutheran School, Hillside  Junior High and Royal High.  In December 1998 I moved to New Orleans to attend Delgago Community College for their Mortuary Science program and the University of New Orleans where I received a BS in Business Admin.  I graduated at the top of my class in my degree.

I was in the Masters program at UNO when I decided to move back home to take care of my father.  I was caring for my dad while remodeling his house when I found out I was pregnant: I would like to believe by Immaculate Conception.  Upon receiving this news I moved back to the home I grew up in to be closer to my mom.  On June 1, 2006 I gave birth to Sage Wilder Fleischman, the most beautiful by in the world of course.

Four and a half months after having my son I got the job I was looking for at a cemetery in Westlake Village.  I run the Crematory there as a Certified Crematory Operator.  On April 25th I am going to Sacramento to take the Crematory Manager License exam and the Cemetery Manager License exam.

THE END, or, To be continued… as I am only 27 Years old.
