I was born and raised
in Southern California. I was married for over 38 years to a
wonderful guy, Tony Moya, before he passed away in 2006. He was
a banker by day and a musician by night. We enjoyed season
tickets to the LA Philharmonic for 40 years. Now my son and I
continue to enjoy this time together. We moved to Simi Valley
in 1970. We raised two very special boys here in Simi. My oldest
son was killed by a drunk driver in 1992, two days after his
21st birthday. My other son is a high school math teacher in
Westlake Village and loves his job. I was a bookkeeper until our
first son came along four years into our marriage. Then, I
became a full-time mother, homemaker, and avid volunteer in this
community.
I have been a very active member of my church, St. Francis of
Assisi, for 37 years. I love my church family. I am currently
our Women's Club president. I have been a docent here at the
museum since 1991 and a board member of the Simi Valley
Historical Society since 1993. I have been a member of the busy
Hands Garden Club of Simi for 12 years. Seven of those years I
served as club president and am still very involved with them.
I also enjoy attending a fun club every month in Simi called
"New in Town". I take a Spanish class weekly. I'm
progressing slowly but enjoying every minute of it. I love to
walk in the park with friends and am really enjoying line
dancing for the last year. I work hard
to keep my home and yard in good condition. I attend Community
Bible Study and spend several hours a week doing my lesson. I
enjoy getting to know my Lord more intimately. I love going to
the movies, painting when I have time, traveling when I have the
money and spending time with my good friends.
