Docent of the Month

My name is Jean Bennett and I have been a docent at the Historical Park since 1999. My husband and I have lived in Simi Valley for 36 years. We have three children and 8 grandchildren. I was a teacher for 30 years and since I retired I have been volunteering around the community. I deliver Meals on Wheels. I teach Mature Driving classes at the Senior Center. I also do school tours that come to the Simi Library. I just began working as an usher at the Cultural Arts Center. We are active in our Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been co-president of the American Association of University Women for the last two years.

I enjoy exercise, and bowling. For hobbies I like to read, travel and work on family history. I am happy to be able to work at Strathearn and help classes who come to learn about the history of our valley.
